Do you live in the Great Cornard area and have a view on the future of Wells Hall Old School?

It is believed that the main structures, Front Hall, Back Hall & Toilet Block, were built around 1875. At that time it was the only school in the village until the construction of the other, now four, schools in the village. In recent years the 'Old School' has been used for a variety of Community activities including Adult Learning, Play School, Youth Clubs, Community Groups, Hobby & Leisure Groups, Brownies and Guides to name but a few.

Currently, the future of Wells Hall Old School site is under review.

If you have no real interest in the future of the Old School but attended the school as a teacher, pupil or have a relative who attended, please contact me and perhaps we can 'capture' some of the history using your memories.

To contact me, send an email using either of these email hyperlinks with your contact details. I will guarantee that I will not pass your contact details and/or your identity to anyone unless you give permission for your details to be shared.

I will make sure that everyone on the list is contacted, preferably by email, with up-to-date & relevant information when it becomes available.

I am not wishing to be too emotive but, if the site is sold off and 'cleared', not only will the village lose a fairly versatile 'Community' site but part of the physical village history will be lost for ever.
