Guided Walks Programme - Autumn/Winter 2006/7

Numbers limited - £3.00 per adult – children free – please bring sturdy boots – dogs on leads welcome.

2006 WALKS

Sunday 24th September at 10am - 1.30pm - Approx. 5 ½ miles - Moderate

Sudbury Stroll - Starting in the historic town centre, join us for a walk around this easily accessible countryside on the town’s doorstep. Easy access to meeting point by public transport.

 

Saturday 14th October at 10am – 12.30pm - Approx. 3 ½  miles – Easy/Moderate

leavenheath loop - We’ll lead you along historic tracks to the historic woodland of Arger Fen.  Autumn is a great time to see the woodland. On route, we’ll be hearing more about the recent work to restore parts of the woodland to their native glory.

 

Saturday 4th November at 1.30pm – 4.30pm - Approx. 5 miles - Moderate plus

Views of the Valley - You might be surprised by the undulating countryside to be found here in Lamarsh, Great Henny and Twinstead.  Join us for a picturesque walk in this peaceful part of the valley.

 

Sunday 3rd December at 10.00am – 1.30pm - Approx. 5 ½ miles - Moderate plus

Stourside Stretch - Starting in Bures, we’ll be heading to the hill top village of Wormingford and back, taking in some of the Stour Valley Path on our way. Easy access to meeting point by public transport.

 

 

2007 WALKS

Sunday 14th January at 10.00am – 1.30pm - Approx. 6 miles - Moderate plus

Beating the Bounds in the Belchamps - Beat the January blues with a walk around the pretty villages of Belchamp St Paul, Belchamp Otten and Belchamp Walter.  Be prepared for possibly muddy conditions as we will be heading very much cross-country!

 

Sunday 18th February at 1.00pm – 3.00pm - Approx. 4 miles - Easy/Moderate

Country Park meets Countryside in the Cornards - Meet us for a shorter walk in Great and Little Cornard as we explore the Country Park and Countryside and how they inter-relate.

 

Types of Walk

All our walks are taken at the pace of the slowest walker. 

We aim to make them enjoyable as well as informative. 

Walks begin at the time stated so please arrive at the meeting point in good time.

Easy - Gentle stroll with locations that are very accessible by everyone.

Moderate - Country walking may include some rougher ground and stiles.

Moderate plus - For more experienced walkers covering longer distances.

B - Easy by Bus
