Arthritis means inflammation of the joints. Most people with arthritis will experience pain and difficulty moving around. It can affect people of all ages and cannot be cured. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis. It usually develops gradually, as changes in cartilage (soft tissue that protects the bone surface) occur that affect how joints work. Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory disease, mainly affecting joints and tendons.
