Supporting Young Families

Anyone who has had young children knows how hard it can be at times – add loneliness, illness, disability or other stresses and life can become very difficult.

Home-Start Babergh (Registered Charity No. 1107915) is a voluntary organisation that supports families with one or more children under five years old across the district who are going through a difficult time for any reason.

Support is given through trained parent volunteers who are matched one to one to support a family for as long as they are needed.  Volunteers also receive ongoing training, support and expenses.

Home-Start Babergh is currently recruiting volunteers in the area to join the next Preparation Course at the end of February 2005 in Hadleigh.  The only requirements to be a volunteer are to be a parent or have parenting experience, enjoy children and young families and have a couple of hours to spare each week.
