A Short Lateral Thinking Puzzle by Roger Burden

Three married couples were celebrating their joint wedding anniversary at a dinner dance at the Brook Inn (!); for most of the evening, the husbands danced with their own wives, but when it came to the tango, no man danced with his own wife. Instead, Alex led Dorothy on to the floor, Brian partnered Charlesís wife, and Florenceís husband danced with Elizabeth. So, what was the name of each manís wife, ans with whom did he dance the tango?

Answer:  Alex was married to Elizabeth, and danced the tango with Dorothy; Brian was married to Dorothy and danced the tango with Florence. Charles was married to Florence and danced the tango with Elizabeth.
