Working Parties

For further details and updates on the progress made at recent working parties, please visit www.riverstourtrust.org.

  • 2nd Saturday every month - Working parties at Sudbury or Great Cornard

  • 3rd Saturday every month - Working parties at Stratford Lock

The River Stour Trust organises several working parties throughout the year. Our current projects are Stratford St Mary Lock Restoration and work around the River Stour Trust sites at The Granary, Sudbury and the Visitor/Education Centre at Great Cornard.

We are keen to establish any special skills that volunteers may be able to offer such as carpentry, building skills, engineering, ground care and maintenance together with any tools and equipment you could bring with you on the day. We run safe and healthy working parties and ask that you follow any instructions given to you regarding this important matter.

Tea and coffee will be provided at the working parties and volunteers must be aged over 18. We would encourage you to consider joining the River Stour Trust although this is not a requirement to help at a working party.

Join O.A.R.!

4th Saturday every month- O.A.R. Over 50s rowing. For the over 50s and under 100! The Older Age Rowers (O.A.R.) group will meet for the first time on Saturday 28 April at The Granary between 10am-10.30am. If you would like the opportunity to enjoy the river (between Sudbury and Henny) and meet other like-minded individuals then please come along. It is hoped that this group will meet every fourth Saturday of the month and members will assist one another getting dinghies in and out the water etc. For more details please telephone: Les Airey (01787) 370644.
