Sudbury Choral Society

Singing is one of the greatest joys in life and you don’t have to be Katherine Jenkins or Russell Watson to enjoy taking part in making music. So many people believe they can’t sing when in fact with a bit of encouragement and support they find their voice. Does this sound like you? Perhaps you watched the recent TV series ‘Last Choir Standing’ and felt the obvious love of singing amongst the participating choirs, or maybe you sang in a school or church choir when you were younger and would like to start again.

Sudbury Choral Society invites you to come along to rehearsals for a few weeks free of charge to see how you get on. We are a friendly group who can guarantee a warm welcome; you won’t have to audition and we will assign a ‘buddy’ to you until you develop your own confidence. If you can read music it is an obvious advantage but don’t worry if you can’t, there are many other ways to learn the music.

We would love to see some new faces joining us this year, and men are particularly sought after! We rehearse each Monday evening from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, in Friars Hall, School Street, Sudbury. We perform four concerts each year, all in St Peter’s Church on Market Hill. Our Spring and Autumn concerts are more musically challenging, with the programmes for the Summer and Christmas concerts being lighter in tone.

Although we take the music seriously, we have time for friendship, fun and social activities too. Why not come along next Monday and meet us? Sudbury Choral Society needs you!

If you’d like to talk to someone from the Society before making up your mind then you can phone Liz Webber on (01787) 375258, or Julie Franklin on (01787) 379087. We look forward to welcoming you soon!
