Hard of Hearing?

Would you like some free and local help with your hearing loss?

Did you know that Suffolk Hearing Support Service run LIPREADING CLASSES in Great Cornard? The classes are for adults with an acquired hearing loss whether your loss is mild or severe. We meet in Wells Hall Old School once a week during term time and there are now some spaces available from September.

As well as learning how to lip-read, you will learn communication strategies and tactics which will help you manage your loss. Classes are small, friendly and, most importantly, FUN.

Take a positive step today and sign up. You will meet others who understand the problems of hearing loss, and you will receive support in building your skills and confidence. SHSS lipreading teachers are fully trained and professionally qualified.

There are a limited number of places, so please get in touch. Telephone me on 01473 824649 or email Jill Cox with any questions and to book your place.

For details of other lipreading classes around the county please contact Suffolk Hearing Support Service, Suffolk House, 2 Wharfedale Road, Ipswich IP1 4JP, phone 01473 467785 / 467789 or email enquiries@shss.org.uk

Jill Cox Lipreading Tutor

As someone who is 'hard of hearing' I find that these classes are a real help. You can feel a bit cut off in social situations when you are unable to catch what people are saying. Jill tells us how to help overcome these difficulties and have the confidence to deal with them. Everyone in the class experiences the same problems so we are all sympathetic to each other making it a very friendly atmosphere. Jill always makes the class interesting and informative so don't suffer in silence come along and listen in.
