Age UK Suffolk's Charity Shop at 18 North Street. Our bright new shop has a great range of nearly new clothing, books and bric-a-brac and all funds raised from the shop support our local services for older people in Suffolk.  We welcome donations of good quality nearly new items.

Benefits Advice Service We offer confidential, independent advice to assist people over retirement age to claim the welfare benefits they are entitled to. Home visits available throughout Suffolk.  Telephone 01449 674222.

 

Independent Advocacy Service Advocacy support to people in Suffolk over 55 during periods of disability or ill health who are having to make decisions about their life

and/or their care.  Advocates support people by speaking and taking action with them to ensure they can have their wishes heard, make their own informed choices and

Independence Advisors can visit you at home, wherever you live in Suffolk, to discuss any problem or concern. We can then put you in touch with services that can help. Telephone 01473 288048.

Befriending Services offer carefully selected volunteers who visit and befriend isolated and lonely people in the Sudbury area. We also need more volunteers!

Day Care Services & Dementia Our Chilton Centre in Martins Road, Sudbury is open Monday to Friday, offering a refreshing day out for frail older people with mental health needs. The Chilton Centre, Sudbury is a specialist Day Centre for those affected with Dementia. Our service is designed to offer support for individuals experiencing life changes, respite for carers and much more. Dementia Support Service. If you or someone you care for have a confirmed diagnosis of dementia, our Dementia Advisors con offer a home visit to offer information and advice tailored to yur own situation. Call on 01473 353055 to arrange a visit.

 

Welcome Home Service is a free service supporting people coming home from the West Suffolk Hospital.  Telephone 01284 712942.

 

Saxon House houses our Oasis and Links Day Centres and provides conferencing facilities for local organisations. Telephone 01284 757740.

 

Local Links act as a contact point for senior citizens in their own community, referring older people to Age UK Suffolk. We have volunteer local links in several local parishes.  Telephone 01473 298686.

 

VOICE Older People’s Panel  is an independent panel of older people, including frail older people, living across Suffolk.  They are consulted about local services and their views are then passed on to the local statutory planners who provide services.

Food 'n' Friends Food 'n' Friends clubs are small, regular get-togethers for older people organised by volunteers. They meet in volunteers homes, pubs, cafe's or local schools over a light snack or lunch and provide opportunities for regular local, social contact.
